We only had a short time in Darwin so we made the most of it and scheduled a tour of Litchfield National Park. It was "hot" "hot" this day and we were glad our tour was traveling by small air conditioned bus.
This is a termite mound Janet is standing by. It's active. Feels like concrete. We were told the people living in the Outback tear these down and use them as flooring in their houses.
A small termite mound and a different type of termite.
A large number of the big and small termite mounds in this area. All along the roadway they could be seen way back through the bushes.
Litchfield National Park has four major falls so we saw them all. Except for the water courses the area is arid. Janet took advantage of one of the stops and jumped in the pool.
At our lunch stop this came in handy.
And across the road for the lunch stop was a water buffalo.
At one of the falls a "million" Fruit Bats were in the trees.
Using the long lens but this bat was only about 30 feet away.
We enjoyed this last day in Australia and tomorrow we go to Bali.
