This was our guide for a couple of tours. He's showing a small box made out of palm fronds that is holding offerings to the Gods. Most all businesses and households place these offerings on the sidewalks out front. The offerings are usually fruit, nuts and flowers, etc, and is done three times a day.
This day we visited another temple. This one is called the Elephant Cave. Behind us can be seen an opening in solid rock. We went in, it wasn't a very big cave and could not have held one Elephant. Why the name, we couldn't decipher. There's those skirts again.
One late evening we were walking through town and Janet wanted to try this. Little fishes cleaned her legs and feet.
She yelped a couple of times as a big fish took too big a bite.
One night we attended a play called "Kecak Srikandhi". The King chose a husband for one of his three daughters. There was many beautiful women, murder, fire and mayhem.
The three daughters.
At the end of the play Janet was able to have a photo with the principal actors.
Much fantastic artwork on the street
In front of our hotel in Ubud, Bali.
This load was very heavy. Took a helper to get this one on top of his head. It was a load of gravel. They were building an addition to the hotel.
Menu - Nasi Goreng is Fried Rice
This lady was helping build the addition and carrying heavy stones.
In some countries like the U.S. these brooms are sold as novelties. Not a novelty to him I'm sure.
Planting Rice
Rice field terraces.
Men plant the rice and women harvest. This is the harvest. They beat the rice stalks against something hard to make the grains fall onto a large rug.
Wash day at the local creek.
And she is carrying the clean clothes home.
Janet can carry things also.
After a hard day of touristing it was time to find the local rest stop. This is not a seat. See those foot pads.
A temple not far from our hotel in Ubud.

We took a half day white water rafting trip on the Ayung River. This is in the center of the island.
Didn't know how flattering these helmets were.
These carvings were in the rocks lining the river.
Our river guide. Very friendly and enjoyed his job.
.
Red Skys at night from the hotel rooftop.
The airport employees' parking lot. We were on our way to Bangkok.
